Kina had a very exciting day yesterday, and without going into too much detail, it’s safe to say that it included long-awaited family hangouts with two key kid friends. The first, with Sloane, involved countless water balloons; nobody from either family left the premises dry, and we all got to see these two kids—who’ve known each other since they were nine months old—engage in complex and mischievous play. The other, with Futura, involved too-hot bowls of arroz caldo at a table just the right size for kid friends. Daddy stood by officiously and announced an appetizer of chicken skin. Futura asked for eggs on the side. The kitchen allowed it. Everybody had popsicles.
Kina slept like a log.
