I caught Kina just after her nap yesterday, before I left to have dinner with Laurea and my siblings. Kina had left me a little construction paper birthday card and wandered into my bedroom, still rubbing her eyes, to show it to me. Afterwards, she gave me a long hug, and then another. I went to fetch a glass of water, and she gave me another hug. I passed by the living room, and she hugged me again. As I walked into my bedroom to get my wallet, she asked, “Do you want another hug?” I walked over to her, sat down on the floor as I always do after her nap, and waited for her to crawl onto my lap. She laid her head on my chest and nibbled on a Nilla wafer as I squeezed her shoulders. She stood up, turned to me, smiled, and went to finish her cookie snack. Nice birthday present from the small person. Highly recommend.
