Forgotten Island Thrills Film Critic With Its Poignant Coming-of-Age Themes and Filipino Folk Creatures
Nearly-empty theater filled with Kina’s guffaws and commentary; a must-see movie for Pinoys (and others)

I cannot stress enough how fun and well-made Forgotten Island is. As a story about friendship and coming-of-age, it’s a good baseline, but the way it tells a story about Filipino people and culture is really unparalleled and nuanced and funny. Highly recommended whether or not there is a Nor’easter blowing through your town.
