Child Assembles Search Party at Waterfront
“Okay guys let’s split up”; unsure what exactly we’re looking for
I still don’t know what Kina had us all looking for yesterday on the Red Hook waterfront. Things there were plenty of: sticks, wet dogs, moist sand, Brooklynites. Things that seemed to be missing: shady trees, other fun children, mystery treasure. Six adults fanned out across the park, hunting for nothing in particular, while Kina stood at the fence overlooking the harbor and stared at the Statue of Liberty. Sometimes she just likes to keep us busy and out of her hair. It’s hard being the boss.
