Catchup Edition: “Déja Boo”, a Day in the Life of a Flower Girl, and the Most Helpful Child

The Daily Kina

As Bart Simpson once said, I’m a little behind on my rounds. It’s been an eventful weekend, what can I say?

“Daddy, What If Your Name Was ‘Déja Boo’?”

Kina gives Daddy new superhero hane; it’s actually not bad…

I was going to say “drag name”, but that felt a little too appropriative. She has on multiple occasions this weekend called me “Déja Boo Yee”, which really rings nicely.

Coiffed and gowned, kid escorts Oatie at Des and Andrew’s perfect wedding

This was a good day. Kina was gorgeous, as were the brides. My sister was resplendent and I love her very much. I gave an outstanding speech that had just enough inside jokes about Riis Beach that it won the crowd over. There were cheeseburgers, and Kina walked Oatie down the aisle tossing flowers. Extremely good wedding, would attend again.

Kina has been finding real joy in helping out these days, and that joy is matched with the core strength necessary to carry back a third of our weekly laundry haul—a real milestone.

Buried here in the second position is a little news about my age, which I am celebrating in my own quiet way. I’ll probably write about that at some point, but not today. I’m too relaxed from my massage.

Sorry for missing two days—they were really nice.
